SAFC Foundation Pumas v Easington Kites

This should have been the Pumas first real test of this season, and we had been looking forward to it. That was until injury and illness decimated our squad.

And so it was that we lined up missing five key players and the Pumas struggled to adjust to the absences. Both teams started and brightly but Easington soon started to dominate and the Pumas had to work hard to contain them. Unfortunately after twenty minutes Easington produced a defence splitting pass and their striker outran our makeshift defence to score.  They heaped the pressure on and only took another five minutes to score their second. Easington added a third before half time.

The Pumas just couldn't lift themselves and Easington sensed our frailty and set about demolishing us. We just couldn't stem the flow of attacks and maintain our shape and Easington added six more goals including a goal mouth scramble, an own goal and finally a penalty. It was certainly a day worth forgetting.
