SAFC Foundation Pumas 3 V 1 Felling Magpies

7th February 2010

In the away leg of this fixture earlier in the season we had come away very disappointed as despite playing the better football a 3-1 defeat was our reward. Redressing the balance was our priority but the magpies had also improved in the time since our last match and it was clear from the kick off that this would not be an easy game. Possession flowed between both teams and neither really settled but both were capable of scoring and their defences were tested. It was on twenty minutes when Sam finally broke the deadlock with a well struck shot. The goal sparked Felling into action and shortly after and probably the key moment in the game that Felling created an excellent chance which was brilliantly saved by Johnny Doyle and Brad Pape was there to block the resultant shot from the rebound. Just before half time Nathan doubled the lead converting Jordan's well delivered free kick.

The Pumas sealed the game shortly after half time when Johnny Brown's pass found Sam who rounded the keeper and scored our third. Despite Felling's hard work they couldn't break the Pumas down and were fortunate to get a consolation goal after a scuffed goal kick fell to one of the magpies who struck in to the back of the net.
